A group of friends got together on Friday night. We went for a hike above the university, under the light of the full moon, followed by dinner and drinks.
It is always fun to get away, and to spend an evening with friends.

Day Out
Steve and I went out for an afternoon date -- to a play downtown. Our friend, Razi, watched the girls for us. They seemed to have a lot of fun.
(I love our friends in the babysitting co-op!)

Carolyn in action
Some pictures from Carolyn's school. We have had a lot of snow lately. Carolyn and her friends look to be enjoying their time outside in the snow.

SICK, SICK, SICK
We are sick of being sick!
Since December, at least one of us has been sick. Let's review.
And, if everyone is healthy and I can actually work a full day (I do not think I have worked a full day since coming back to work in January), I will probably be able to update the blog more regularly.
Since December, at least one of us has been sick. Let's review.
- For 14 days before Christmas, Carolyn was ill with some sort of virus -- likely the influenza. This was followed by a secondary infection of a urinary tract / kidney infection, which brought fevers that were higher and worse than the first 14 days.
- Over New Year's, Steve and I had the norovirus for a few days.
- In early January, Elizabeth was sent home from daycare with high fevers and an ear infection. This was accompanied by a nasty respiratory illness, later confirmed to be RSV. Carolyn and I also likely had this one. The cough lasted for weeks, the same weeks in which we were stuck in an invesrsion (coincidence? Probably not!). This round of viruses also caused Carolyn to have more urinary tract issues, which were frustrating and embarassing for her.
- Just when I thought everyone was getting better, I got yet another call from daycare, saying that Elizabeth had pink eye and that I needed to pick her up. By the time I picked her up 30 minutes later, her eyes were not so bad, but her fever was high and steadily climbing. A trip to the Urgent Care confirmed that the ear infections had not cleared, so the next round of antibiotics were started. She was also given a full viral panel, which came back positive for Influenza A. All four of us got it this time. We all had the flu shot, so our symptoms were apparently milder than expected, but it was still nasty.
And, if everyone is healthy and I can actually work a full day (I do not think I have worked a full day since coming back to work in January), I will probably be able to update the blog more regularly.

Happy Valentine's Day
We were in the midsts of family illness,
so we barely even celebrated the day,
but the girls both sported their new shirts.

In celebration of Mardi Gras.
A fun afternoon of music and dance with the girls.

The Little Ripper
On the final day of Carolyn's ski lesson, all of the kids came down a race course to show the parents what they had learned. Steve was waiting at the bottom, ready with the camera, but was so surprised by how fast she was coming down the hill that he forgot to record her going in and out of the gates. But, he got her on another run. She is doing well with skiing, in control and able to turn where she wants to go. Not bad for a 4 year old.
The best part is that she always asks to go back. She loves it.
