So close ...

Elizabeth wants to walk so bad.  She tries.  She just cannot do more than a step or two at a time.  It wont be long, though, and she will be running laps around the house.

Carolyn loves to teach her little sister everything she knows.  The only problem -- "baby" (as Carolyn calls her) does not always want to do what Carolyn is teaching her.

Memorial Day Magic

A party to celebrate the birth of Persephone and the aging of her parents.  Persephone is the daughter of our dear friends, Nikki and Joshua.  She was born a few weeks ago.  Her parents both just turned 40 this month.  Nikki's parents threw a party over Memorial Day weekend to celebrate all of these life milestones.  There was a lamb on the spit, and a magician for the kids.

Another new baby was in attendance -- Claudia and Rachel also introduced their new little girl, Laurel.

Compared to baby Laurel and baby Persephone, this one looks like a giant!

End of Year Performance

The RED CLASS recently held its end-of-year ceremony and dinner.  The kids "graduated" and performed a series of 7 songs -- one from each continent -- for the parents.

"The Lion Dance" from Africa.  Wait for the air guitar at the end!

"Antarctica, Land of Ice and Snow" and "Asia" .... you guessed it, from Antarctica & Asia

"Hasta Luego, All See You All in Mexico" from North America

"Kookabura" from Australia

The kids practiced a lot and were so proud of themselves. 

Legos

Our zoo is hosting a special lego exhibit for the summer.  Carolyn and I went to a class where we met the Lego artist who described how he built the massive lego exhibits all around the zoo.  Then we got to meet a real-live eagle and were able to make out own lego eagle (which was pretty challenging to put together, even with adult assistance).
