Aging happened

I have glasses on my face for the first time in my life.  

I was thinking that my arms were shrinking because they just weren't quite long enough when I was holding a menu or book.  

That is when I decided it was time to go to the eye doctor, for the first time since I was ten.  

I learned that I am ready for bifocals.  Not sure how often I will wear them, but I do like how bright and crisp letters look again.

Pretty often, I find surprises on my camera..... Almost always from Lizzie.

Lizzie the Dress Model

I still kind of chuckle thinking about Lizzie being a model.  But, it is true!  She has been selected to appear on the hang-tags for 5 different dresses sold at Costco this winter.  These dresses, with her sweet little face on the price tag, will be hitting the website and store racks this fall.

Below are a few of the unedited photos from the winter/holiday photo shoot.  I think she did a total of 10 dresses this time.  There are close to 500 unedited photos.

This past weekend, she did another shoot with 15 dresses.  She did all of them in just under 75 minutes. She is fast and knows what to do to get the right shots for each dress.  I also now know how to help by getting the bows tied in the back, putting the silly hair bows in her hair, and lining up the tights and shoes for each.  Stay tuned.  She will probably appear on more hang-tags next summer.  Or, at the very least, I will end up with another 500 unedited photos of her in cute dresses. 

After these photo shoots, I believe her modeling career is  coming to an end.  The sample sizes from this dress company are always a size 5, and she is getting a bit tall for them. She has no interest in pursuing the modeling thing beyond this dress company (or beyond Marie, the fun photographer who we randomly met while eating pizza one evening this fall).  

Lizzie now has some nice dresses in her closet and also a little bit of money in her pocket. Someone better invite her somewhere fancy.  

Summer Camp

Both girls went to sleepaway camp this summer -- this was Lizzie's first full week camp.  She went to "Camper Sampler" at Cloud Rim with her friends Ava and Akasha.  Carolyn went to "All Stars" with her cousin Lauren. They started at Trefoil Ranch and ended up at Cloud Rim.

Upon pick-up, they have so many stories to tell. And, they seem just a bit older and more mature.
