Since December, at least one of us has been sick. Let's review.
- For 14 days before Christmas, Carolyn was ill with some sort of virus -- likely the influenza. This was followed by a secondary infection of a urinary tract / kidney infection, which brought fevers that were higher and worse than the first 14 days.
- Over New Year's, Steve and I had the norovirus for a few days.
- In early January, Elizabeth was sent home from daycare with high fevers and an ear infection. This was accompanied by a nasty respiratory illness, later confirmed to be RSV. Carolyn and I also likely had this one. The cough lasted for weeks, the same weeks in which we were stuck in an invesrsion (coincidence? Probably not!). This round of viruses also caused Carolyn to have more urinary tract issues, which were frustrating and embarassing for her.
- Just when I thought everyone was getting better, I got yet another call from daycare, saying that Elizabeth had pink eye and that I needed to pick her up. By the time I picked her up 30 minutes later, her eyes were not so bad, but her fever was high and steadily climbing. A trip to the Urgent Care confirmed that the ear infections had not cleared, so the next round of antibiotics were started. She was also given a full viral panel, which came back positive for Influenza A. All four of us got it this time. We all had the flu shot, so our symptoms were apparently milder than expected, but it was still nasty.
And, if everyone is healthy and I can actually work a full day (I do not think I have worked a full day since coming back to work in January), I will probably be able to update the blog more regularly.

Awwwww! You can tell they are both not feeling well . . . their cheeks are flushed liked running a fever. Hope things improve soon. There's nothing more confining than having illness run through the family. Feels like you'll never get out of the house again.
Do I get the award for being the first responder to your photos? Love seeing the photos, keep 'em coming so we can all see how much they've grown. Love to all.
