So does this mean that she is an "tween" now? Whatever the case, she is kind and empathetic, sometimes a bit spacey, and we are so proud of the young adult she is becoming.
For her birthday, she wanted to take her friends camping because some of them had never gone camping. I really thought the parents would say NO when I asked, but to our surprise, they did not. With Steve still recovering from surgery, and snow still covering our original campsite, I thought I would have to move our camp-out to the backyard. But, nothing can stop us. I took up 6 girls for a one-night campout at Tanners Flat. They all had a blast. I successfully started a campfire for both the dinner and breakfast meal. The girls (Maggie, Zoe, Vanessa, Hayden, Carolyn, Lizzie) all got along and slept in their own tent. Success!
These next photos crack me up -- in the morning, Lizzie asked if she could borrow my camera. About 30 minutes later, I found her and over 100 photos on my phone. She told me that she wanted to live in this area for the rest of her life, and that she was just trying to take the best photo so she could remember it. It was a shaded forest area with a little trickling stream running through it. She said she loved all the moss and how cool it felt in the shade.
