This week carolyn did only a half day camp. From 9 to 12. It was at BadDogArts. The theme was Dr Seuss. They read a story each day and made crafts that were reminiscent of the story. Another winner in Carolyn's book.
And not to mention, we got to spend the afternoons doing fun things. One day nikki picked her up and took her to high tea (a belated birthday gift) and to the park. The other days we spent most of the afternoon at the rec center swimming and playing capture the flag and dodge ball or whatever other games poppedd up in the field by the pool. I was not as excited about this week because it was a lot of driving and did not allow me to get much work done (between 930 and 1130 only), but it was manageable.
We both work full time, so the notion of a do-nothing, play - hard summer is harder for us to achieve, but so far, we have managed to give carolyn some pretty awesome adventures. Lizzie, on the other hand, keeps her days consistent at the same day care she attends during the school year, but they also do fun things like go swimming (water day), make Popsicles, have visits from firemen.
