Our summer started with a day long adventure -- We were supposed to go hiking in the mountains, but the girls and their friends Taryn and Hayden (also sisters) wanted to explore our city instead. I was their tour guide. We first went for a hike around campus, where they each got to choose their lunch at the food court, alongside the college kids. Then, we went to see "Singing in the Rain" on the bigscreen downtown. The day ended with an adventure through Memory Grove Park, which is a park downtown. The girls all mediated for a while at the Meditation Chapel. Then, Lizzie gave an impassioned speech about why we should not cut down trees. Note, the help from her sister while she was at the podium!
