The end of an era

Last week, we said goodbye to Montessori Community School.  Lizzie finished her kindergarten year, which marks the end of our family's 6th full year with the school.  We have met so many friends (parents and kids), had the same teachers for most of the years, and felt a real sense of community and home within this school.  Our girls both thrived there.  As we look back, we are thankful we chose this school for both of their early childhood years.

I did not think that Lizzie had grown up that much over the past three years, but when I compare her at her first day and her last, I see such growth and maturity.  When I think about what she has learned and the way she now thinks, it is clear that these have been a productive set of years for her.

Elizabeth is so excited to start 1st grade at Indian Hills and go to school with her sister!  I look forward to her continued academic pursuits.  My guess is that she will be a very disciplined student.... but who knows, maybe not!

One thing is for certain.  She will miss her two besties - Ava and Akasha.  In the fall, all three girls are headed to different elementary schools close to their neighborhoods.  I am not sure they realize that they wont be back together.  Honestly, I am not sure I realize that I will not be going in and out of the MCS parking lot every day.
