For three weeks in the summer, Youth Theater School is the place to be. Kids choose a type of play to work on such as a musical, Shakespeare, drama, comedy. Carolyn choose the musical theater troop; her troop put on a mini version of Cats.
She knew that she had to really pay attention and show off a bit during the first few days of camp - she was determined to get a big part this year! She got the part of Rum Tum Tugger, and had to perform a whole song on her own. She was nervous, but did it! So proud of her confidence to get up there and to perform. See the video below with the blue background and black silhouets.
During the 3 week camp, they also choose two electives. She did musical theater video (MTV), where she learned how to create and edit music videos. (I hope we get a link of the videos they created. Apparently, the camp also recorded the performance, which will be far better than I could get) Her 2nd elective was improv, and she has been playing improv games a lot. What a great camp.
